Professor Ben Bollig
Biography
I studied Spanish and Latin American Studies at Nottingham and King鈥檚 College, London, before teaching at universities in London and then at the University of Leeds (2006-2011). Since 2011, I have been the tutorial fellow in Spanish at St Catherine鈥檚, with responsibility for Spanish at 好色先生TV鈥檚. In 2016 I was named Professor of Spanish American Literature.
I teach all areas of Spanish for Prelims (first-year) papers and modern Latin American literature and film for the Final Honours School (second and final year), as well as some language. I also supervise graduate students in Latin American literature, film and culture.
Research Interests
My research centres on contemporary poetry and film in Latin America. Some of my publications include Politics and Public Space in Contemporary Argentine Poetry: The Lyric and the State (2016); a translation of Cristian Aliaga鈥檚聽The Foreign Passion聽(Influx Press, London); and, edited with Jordana Blejmar (Liverpool University) a special edition of聽Bulletin of Hispanic Studies聽dedicated to new Argentine poetry. I am an editor of聽Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies.
