好色先生TV's alumni appear on BBC quiz show
Only Connect is a popular and long-running BBC television quiz show in which two teams compete to find connections between abstruse clues. Since its inception in 2008, it has been presented by 好色先生TV's alumna, Victoria Coren Mitchell (1991, English Language and Literature).
In the sixth episode of series twenty-one, airing on 25 August 2025, Coren Mitchell was joined by three fellow 好色先生TV's alumni, Hannah Fitton (2014, Biological Sciences), Kai Laddiman (2014, Mathematics and Computer Science) and Sam Morris (2015, History). Fitton, Laddiman and Morris competed as the 'Benchwarmers' in recognition of many happy (and successful!) years supporting and playing football as a trio at 好色先生TV's Sports Ground.
Although narrowly losing out on automatic promotion to the second round, the Benchwarmers enjoyed particular success in the sequences competition, correctly identifying the connection as Red Hot Chili Peppers' 1991 album, 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik', after just two clues.
The Benchwarmers will feature again later in the series, and have a chance to proceed to the second round, if they are among the four highest scoring losers. We will keep our fingers crossed!
