Professor Philip Maini elected by The Academy of Medical Sciences
The Academy of Medical Sciences is the independent body in the UK representing the diversity of medical science. The Academy's mission is to advance biomedical and health research and its translation into benefits for society.聽
This year's elected Fellows have expertise that spans women鈥檚 health, immunology, public health and infectious disease among many other fields.
Professor Maini is聽Director of the Wolfson Centre for Mathematical Biology. His聽work is聽on the mathematical modelling of spatiotemporal processes in biology and medicine. Speaking of his election, he said he was 'surprised and delighted' to be so honoured.
The new Fellows will be formally admitted to the Academy at a ceremony on 28 June 2017.
