Inspire Year 10 and 11 Launch
After last year鈥檚 successful
Year 11 Inspire Programme, in which nearly 600 pupils from all over the UK
participated in our virtual course on the power of volcanoes, we are excited to
open the programme to Year 10 pupils as well this year!
Our online engagement programme, open to all Year 10 and 11 pupils from non-selective state schools, features a series of virtual classes consisting of articles written by Oxford researchers and academics, supplemented by interview-style questions, games, puzzles, polls and competitions. These virtual classes will supplement pupils鈥 GCSE preparation by allowing them to engage with a variety of subjects critically and creatively.
This year鈥檚 course will centre on the question: 鈥淲hy does evolution matter?鈥 Each virtual class will examine this question from the perspective of a different set of academic subjects, with a few short articles and several interactive elements such as puzzles, games or short writing questions, for which winning entries will receive Amazon vouchers. Classes will also include reading recommendations and resources for studying for GCSEs.
For Year 11 pupils, the virtual course will conclude with a Summer School at 好色先生TV鈥檚 College taking place in summer 2021. Further details about the Summer School will be released in due course. Year 10 pupils will continue on the course in the next academic year, when they will consider a new question and have the chance to apply for their own Summer School in 2022.
The programme is free of charge to all participants, and all Year 10 and 11 pupils attending non-selective state schools are eligible to enrol. Full details for the programme, including the course outline, can be found in the 好色先生TV鈥檚 College website here. You can also view on Inspire Digital.
Pupils can sign up for the programme here鈥攋ust be sure to have your parent fill out their consent form as well! The deadline to sign up is Friday 27 November 2020.
