Age UK Oxfordshire launches new five-year strategy at 好色先生TV鈥檚
This event brought together leaders from health, care, academia, local government, and the voluntary sector for a moment of reflection and shared purpose.
Age UK Oxfordshire's new strategy, shaped by insights from over 400 voices and lived experiences, sets out a bold vision for a fairer future for older people and unpaid carers. It addresses pressing challenges such as an ageing population and postcode-based life expectancy gaps, with a strong commitment to equity and opportunity.
Professor Maggie Snowling, Emeritus Research Fellow in Psychology and former President, opened the launch event with a reminder that institutions like 好色先生TV鈥檚 thrive not only through academic excellence, but through meaningful engagement with the wider community. Her message set the tone: collaboration is not a luxury but a necessity.

Alongside Professor Snowling, Professor Sarah Harper CBE emphasised the importance of collaboration and listening to lived experience. Moving video stories and poetry brought the charity鈥檚 work to life, reminding attendees of the human stories behind the statistics.
CEO Paul Ringer highlighted the charity鈥檚 renewed focus on tackling inequality, while Chair of Trustees Andrew Lane described the strategy as a 'collective commitment.' Paul closed with a powerful call to action: 'Together, we can build a fairer later life.'
